We respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If the small-business exemption applies, we still choose to operate to the APP standard. This policy also explains additional rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR for individuals in the EU or the UK.

  • marketing and newsletter preferences

We do not seek to collect sensitive information. If you provide it, you do so voluntarily and we handle it securely and only for the purpose for which it was provided.

3. How we collect personal information

We collect information that you provide directly, such as when you create an account, make a purchase, register for training, download materials, contact us, or subscribe to updates. We also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the Site. We may receive limited information from service providers who operate our payment, email, analytics, and training tools.

4. Purposes for which we collect and use personal information

We use personal information to:

If we intend to use information for a materially different purpose that is not obvious, we will seek your consent or give you a clear opportunity to opt out.

5. Direct marketing and the Spam Act

We send newsletters and updates to people who have consented or where permitted by law. Each message identifies us as the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link. You can also ask us at any time to stop using your information for direct marketing.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, perform analytics, and measure the effectiveness of our content and campaigns.

Essential cookies are necessary for security and core functions and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies help us understand Site use. Marketing cookies measure campaign performance. You can control non-essential cookies in your browser. If you are in the EU or UK, we will only set non-essential cookies after you give consent and will record your choice. You can withdraw consent at any time via your browser or by contacting us.

7. Sharing and cross-border disclosure

We use reputable service providers to host the Site, process payments, send emails, deliver training content, and provide analytics. These providers may be located in Australia or overseas. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it in a way that is consistent with the APPs, such as by using contractual safeguards and limiting access to what is necessary.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risks, including access controls, encryption in transit, role-based permissions, logging, and staff awareness. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure. If we become aware of unauthorised access that is likely to cause serious harm, we will act under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy and to meet legal, tax, and insurance requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

10. Access and correction

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable time.

11. Your privacy rights if you are in the EU or UK

If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR or UK GDPR may grant you additional rights, including to:

  • access and obtain a copy of your personal data

Our Site and Services are for adults working in education and compliance. We do not knowingly collect personal information about children.

13. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to other sites or embed third-party services. Their privacy practices are their own. We encourage you to read their policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on the Site with the effective date. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify active account holders.

15. Questions, concerns, or complaints
